Whitley M. Pleasant
I was born in Austin, TX and just a few weeks later we moved to Mesquite, TX where I grew up the majority of my life. I graduated from Mesquite High School in 2012. I am recent graduate of the University of North Texas in Denton, TX where I studied Converged Broadcast Media and earned a Bachelor of Arts May 2016.
I had an early interest in the media growing up. I enjoyed watching the news and knowing what was going on in the world. When I was in high school, I got the opportunity to take a class at a radio station to get a hands on learning experience. After spending one year being a student DJ at Mesquite Schools radio KEOM 88.5 FM, I was chosen to become one of their student interns for the summer.
Working at KEOM paved the way to my television career. As a freshman at UNT, I was the co-host for a sports magazine show called Mean Green SportsZone, now called SportsZone. At that time I was side line reporting the Mean Green Football games as well.
While attending UNT, I was an executive producer, sports anchor, news reporter, and co-host for North Texas Television, (ntTV). My passion for sports and television has driven me to learn more about behind the scenes. SportsZone is a sports magazine show that I executive produced and co-hosted. I was also the sports anchor for the Tuesday night newscast. I also have experience in news reporting on various stories and events in the Denton area.
I have experience covering the NBA, WNBA and men's and women's collegiate basketball, high school football and the Dallas Sidekicks. I am currently an associate producer for the Dallas Stars, a graphics operator, and a reporter at FOX Sports Southwest. I am also a sports reporter for D210 Sports covering the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Wings.
I enjoy talking sports, especially football and basketball. Being in the action and telling the stories is what I live for.
